Theatre
The accommodating acoustics of Mullingar Arts Centre sees
renowned artists performing in the Centre. Those who have performed to date
include, Des Bishop, Hal Ketchum, Mary Black, P.J. Gallagher, Michael English & Keith
Barry.
Opera Uk performed The Viennese Strauss Gala in January. Opera is proving to be a growing area of
culture within the Midlands area and all performances to date have been hugely
successful.
Ballet Ireland and Gwent Ballet have performed exciting works in
the Centre to great acclaim. Modern Dance was also performed by John Scott's
Irish Modern Dance Company and Daghda Dance Company.
Many professional companies were brought into the Centre to
perform theatrical productions. This comprises popular drama as well as
classical and contemporary theatre. Children's Theatre was also catered for, in
particular by the ever popular Barnstorm Theatre Company and Dublin City Theatre.
Local Theatre productions Rail Theatre Co are currently rehearsing The Last of the Red Hot Lovers which will be performed from Thursday 26th February to Saturday 28th February
Mullingar Student Players are currently rehearsing FAME which will be showing in the Centre from Wednesday 15th April to Friday 17th April.
